I am not a therapist, nor are those participating here, we all walk the road
of healing together. These forums are not a replacement for therapy. What
you read on the Survivors KC message boards is CONFIDENTIAL and holds the
same guidelines as any group therapy session. If you have an issue or
concern about any post, you must FIRST contact the moderator, destinee at destinee@survivorskc.com.
For the safety of all members of Survivors KC, it is against the rules to
share any confidences of this group outside of Survivors KC. If you are
suicidal or thinking about hurting yourself, please find someone in your
local support system to share this with or CALL
A HOTLINE. Also, we will provide links to Depression / Suicide
websites and to Self Injury websites. All of us here at Survivors KC REALLY
want you to be safe, but posting while suicidal or while you are self
injuring jeopardizes the safety of our entire community. This makes the
community feel helpless. Any suicide threats or self injury threats will be
removed for this reason. Postings about feelings and the struggle with these
issues is always ok, however. Also, I ask that if you post a message on
these boards that contains explicit stories of abuse, swearing, heavy doses
of anger, or messages with strong religious content, you should label it as
TRIGGERING within the subject of your post.
When Registering for the
Message Boards, we really encourage members to use an alias instead of their
real names. This gives us all a sense of safety that our real names aren't
exposed to the net, and also helps any inadvertent triggers of someone's
name being the same as a perpetrator's name. Please do not use your real
name on the boards, or the full names of anyone in your life. Thanks for
taking the time to read the rules and regulations here at Survivors KC. They
are for all of our safety. I know that once you join, you will find this
community of survivors to be a very special group of people. I know I have.
